So I JUST talked about some posts on the Warriors website yesterday, but this is WAY more important! To get anyone who hasn’t been keeping up with updates up to speed, a while ago we were told that the arc after the current arc (A Starless Clan), would have a character from Arc 1 be in an important role. My theory on this since the beginning has been Tawnypelt. More recently, the title of the new arc was revealed; it will be called Changing Skies. And JUST NOW, the website has a new post showing the cover of CS’s first book, along with the title and a brief description. Here it is: “As Leafbare approaches, a new danger threatens the Clans. Twoleg construction has encroached on Clan territory, poisoning the stream and making prey especially scarce for SkyClan. Meanwhile, their leader, Leafstar is struggling with a loss of vision while trying maintain authority over a Clan that increasingly doubts her ability to lead. In ShadowClan, Tawnypelt senses peril as the Twoleg construction threatens the Moonpool, but she can’t get anycat, especially her son, Tigerstar, to listen. Frustrated with the younger cats who don't respect her, she decides to take matters into her own paws. In the midst of the chaos, Moonpaw, an apprentice struggling to understand the mysterious voice in her head, thinks that she might be having visions. But the voice becomes increasingly sinister, and Moonpaw wonders if’s a sign of darkness on the horizon.” So… I WAS RIGHT! IT IS TAWNYPELT! Though it seems as though she actually IS a main protagonist, which wasn’t part of my theory. This is a first for the series. Usually, arcs feature new characters as the protagonists, the only exception being Omen of the Stars, which had Jayfeather and Lionblaze as protagonists. But they were already protagonists in the arc before OotS. This is the first time that pre-established non-protagonists are becoming protagonists, which is really cool. Leafstar also seems to be a main character as well. Also, I just realized this while typing… but this Moonpaw is giving me Moonwatcher vibes based on the description. So I guess it’s a good thing I started getting back into reading Wings of Fire. XD And it seems like we’re doing floating heads on the covers again. Though I think them being at the bottom looks better than when they were at the top in TBC.
