On hatching, their beaks are grayish-black. The adult birds have the red-orange beak The cardinal is mainly granivorous, but also feeds on insects and fruit. It can be found in Canada, the United States, New Mexico, Guatemala, Bermuda, Hawaii... Its habitat includes woodlands, gardens, shrublands, and wetlands. #bird
