Full title: Kazoo’s Rotating DTA - Drowned In Ink DTAE! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ello! I’m actually posting two days in a row so that’s rare lol (though if writing the backstory takes too long this may be posted on the 7th :|) I finished this art on the 3rd anyway but it still takes a lot of motivation to write a description so… Anyways enjoy! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Art pieces: 1: May’s ref! It contains a good amount of info, but don’t worry they’ll still be a bio! 2: The thumbnail! I don’t usually do custom thumbnails for DTAEs but I decided to do one and am glad I did! 3: Alternate shading thumbnail! I ended up going with the other one since it fit the circle better, but I still liked the shading on this one, so wanted to show it off 4: Concept art! Some totally-not-creepy-at-all-art y’know, the normal 5: original design, not much to say, as I didn’t make it ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Artist’s corner: Star actually does a new section!? Yeah lol I just kinda wanted to talk about my thought process for how I drew things, minor redesigns, and just generally what I changed. Colors: I adjusted a few of the colors a bit to make them more vibrant Cloak: I removed the cloak and just kept the bowtie as the cloak covered up too much (usually I’m a sucker for cloaks but not this time ig) Legs: I made her a tripod as one of her legs was injured by… something (not telling till backstory) Ink: While I used a more soft pencil-ey brush for everything else, for the ink parts, I used the mono-line brush instead Ears: Since I changed the ears to fit my style, I added extra blue at the tips to balance it out Hopefully all these changes are fine and only for the better! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bio: Name: May Full name: Mayflower Blackwhisker Gender: trans female Pronouns: she/her Orientation: Asexual Lesbian Species: Cat of the Blackwhisker family Rank: civilian Personality: obedient, loyal, constantly terrified Age: 19 Likes: writing, sleep, medics Dislikes: her family’s history, the… things; whatever they are, being alone Disabilities: tripod ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Backstory: The Blackwhisker family has been cursed for hundreds of years now. One bad encounter with a powerful magic wielder by a relative long ago led to great tragedy. The curse was constant visions of dark creatures, able to injure their victim until over many years, eventually they would succumb to their injuries and the curse passed on. Shortly before May was born, her uncle gained the curse. He fought to keep alive for many years, but eventually passed on half a year ago. The curse passed on to May She never really understood the curse, or what it meant, or why her uncle had actually died. All she knew now were the dark monsters who haunted her dreams and everyday life, taking her leg with them. Before her parents just tried to ignore her uncle’s curse and not let on much to May, they still tried to undermine and diminish her claims, terrified it had spread to their daughter and that it would continue until her death. May eventually did her own research, trying to figure out the curse. She knew her years were numbered, but hopefully, with modern technologies, she’d be able to survive as long as her uncle survived with the curse… hopefully. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sorry for the downer backstory, there’s not really a possibility of a happy ending
