Game Introduction
All art and text credit to me. (I know there are typos, but please don't point them out unless you can't read them) Criticism is welcome on the project, but hate and discrimination is unwelcome. If you have a different view then me or someone else, I'd welcome a civilized discussion. Script: Gender is a spectrum. At first we thought there were only two binary genders - male and female, And that there was no in between, and no switching. But then we realized some people’s gender was different from their sex. These people are called transgender. But they still only had two options. Then, it was realized that gender was a spectrum. Genders in the middle were labeled non binary or gender queer. But non binary is an umbrella term, and there are actually a lot of genders - - that can’t be expressed by just male, female, or both. This scale can represent genders that are -or are partially- a third gender, Or are lacking gender partially or wholly. An example for using this scale is demigirl - being partially female, but not entirely. Bigender is being a mix of two genders, but not limited to male and female. A final example is agender, which is having no gender. Though this is an inclusive way to represent gender, Some people may prefer to use a graph version. This adds a fourth point specifically for agender, but still works like the sliders. This is how the previous examples would be shown: Sex - which is different than gender - is also not binary. It is possible to be born intersex -with a body between male and female. This can simply be represented on a slider, but is more complex than this. So, what is your identity? Even if you can’t or don’t want to answer this, you are accepted and valid.
How To Play
Click the flag, then click any where on the screen to change slides. SPECTRUM explores gender being more than a binary, and shows different ways to represent gender visually. At the end, click and drag the dots on the graph and slider to interact, and take pride in who you are. At the end, I'm sorry I don't go more into Intersex stuff, but I know the audience is young, and I'm afraid I couldn't go more into it without mentioning body parts. I totally support intersex people btw
