Articulated bus mechanics
Game Introduction
I've been taking a lot of these buses lately, and I started wondering if it'd be hard simulate one in Scratch. I drew this off of a design sketch of a Van Hool AG300 - so the length/width, wheels, doors, pivot point should all be about to scale. How does it work? * cars, and big vehicles like buses, turn around the point between the rear wheels, not the middle of the car! Those two wheels can't turn, so they always have to stay in parallel: they can only move forward and backwards, or turn around! You'll notice that the costume centers for the front and back part are set to the middle in between the rear wheels. * The middle sprite (the grey section) acts as the point where the two sections of the bus are attached. * The back part stays attached to the front by continuously... turning towards the point where it is attached, and moving forward/backward just enough so it lines up again. that's it!
How To Play
Press the arrow keys to steer your bus! See if you can squeeze it into the bus stop at the top. Please remix! Can you make a fun game out of it?
