Penguin Tower Defense
Game Introduction
Bowl down crawlers with your own army of powerful penguins! There are three difficulty settings, which affect how much money you earn from defeating crawlers. There are 30 levels on easy, 40 levels on medium, and 50 levels on hard. Can you win on hard mode? It’s tricky, but possible! Wow, my first game in Scratch 2.0. Cool.
How To Play
•Click an icon in the lower right to buy a tower, and then click again to place it on the field. Towers may not overlap other towers or touch the track. •Exit buying a tower by clicking "x." •Sell towers by selecting them and clicking “s.” Scroll down for a comprehensive list of each type of crawler and tower, as well as some hints for the aspiring penguin masters! --- Crawlers: •Red crawlers are vulnerable to all types of attacks. •Blue crawlers are unaffected by ice cubes. •White crawlers are unaffected by snowballs. •Yellow crawlers are unaffected by glue. Towers: •Penguin ($50): Throws snowballs at the closest crawler. •Penguin Upgrade ($50): Throws snowballs at the closest crawler. •Glue Penguin ($125): Throws glue at the closest crawler. •Glue Penguin Upgrade ($125): Throws long-lasting glue at the closest crawler. •Ice Penguin ($150): Throws ice cubes at closest crawler. •Ice Penguin Upgrade ($255): Throws two ice cubes at closest crawler. •PengBot ($150): Throws snowballs in one direction. Press ‘space’ to rotate in four possible directions. •PengBot Upgrade ($150): Throws large snowballs in one direction. Press ‘space’ to rotate in eight possible directions. •PengWizard ($275): Spins ice cubes around in a circle the size of its range. •PengWizard Upgrade ($200): Spins ice cubes around twice in a circle the size of its range. •Snow Blower ($300): Shots snowballs in the four cardinal directions. •Snow Blower Upgrade ($350): Shoots four snowballs diagonally and four ice cubes in the cardinal directions. •Igloo ($600): Improves range and recharge speeds of nearby towers. Effect does not stack, but Igloos can boost the range of other igloos. •Emperor Penguin ($1000): Alternates between throwing snow, ice, and glue at the crawler that has been out the longest. •Emperor Penguin Upgrade ($2000): Throws snow, ice, and glue at the crawler that has been out the longest. Tips: •Pay attention to where you position towers, especially snow blowers. •Remember to upgrade your towers! It’s usually worth it as opposed to buying more towers! •Upgraded Glue Penguins are really helpful at the beginning of the game. Get one. •Upgraded Ice Penguins are worth the cost. Try to get one as soon as you can. •Be sure to have a diverse array of tower types to cover the crawler’s resistances. •Igloos are super helpful, but can’t be upgraded. Be sure to keep a space ready for one when you can afford it. You can’t stack the Igloo’s effect, but you can use one to increase the range of another igloo. •You can test a tower’s range and placement even if you can’t afford it. •Don’t save up for an Emperor Penguin until you have a solid set of other towers. •The PengWizard throws ice in a circle the size of its range. Be mindful of its range increase when upgrading or placing an igloo. •The range of towers is measured to the outermost edge of the circle. •You can hover over crawlers to see their health. Crawlers get exponentially stronger with each wave. •If you want to place lots of towers close together, do it before they’re upgraded, when they’re smaller. Good luck! :)
