I hope you will enjoy Land's End. I have spent countless hours developing, bug fixing, and making changes to hopefully make it great! Ever since I joined Scratch almost 3 years ago, I always dreamt of creating a huge project. At first I wanted it to be a scrolling platformer, but I felt that there were too many of these and I wanted something different. It started on my first account, in which I had an idea of a game named Venture, which was to be a scrolling platformer with a bunch of levels and a map. However, I didn't have the skill to create it and made little to no progress towards the goal. Venture was then brought back to life as a collaboration with @annulus, which ultimately failed as we only designed the levels and never put them into code form. In fact, three of the levels that I designed for Venture are somewhat present in Land's End, just with some significant changes to suit the new medium. With Land's End, I built the Garden of Dreams level first, but then made sure to finish the scrolling code before moving on to making more levels. The initial scrolling code was terribly choppy and broke a lot, but was slowly improved as I continued to develop Land's End. At around the time the engine was complete, I announced the project in December, with very few details shared. It was earlier than I would've liked for an announcement, but I went with it anyways because I knew I was going to finish it, no matter how long it would take. From there, I developed a ton in December, especially since I was under the impression that my computer would not support 3.0 for almost all of December. Because of this, I promised a December release, which was completely unreasonable and would be essentially choppy version of a platformer with 6 levels and no world map. After I found out that my browser was the issue with 3.0, I canceled the December release and made more levels, a world map, and have up to this point continued to add more and more to the game. On the first of May the game was complete, other than a few insignificant and easy to do things. I announced a May 31st release, since I wanted to give myself plenty of time to finish those tasks. In that time, I finished those and also decided to change some assets to better fit the updated style. And now it's released! Thank you for your patience as I've developed Land's End.
