Pong vs. Computer (Adjustable Speeds)
Game Introduction
Other Pong projects I liked: * 81303's remix is much cooler. * Pong Starter (very simple): http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/10000036 * Ultra Pong Plus (two player, interesting power-up features): http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/28317154/ How to calculate bounce angle: http://scratch.mit.edu/projects/10072688
How To Play
Use the up & down arrow keys to move your paddle up & down. Use the sliders on the top to adjust the game play. Notice that the faster you are than the ball, the easier it is to keep up with it! And the faster the computer player is than the ball, the harder it is to beat! Remix ideas: * Add the ability to choose different balls. (I will probably add this as well.) * Change the player sprite to go up & down based on the mouse, not keyboard. * Have the ball bounce off at a different angle if a paddle is moving when the ball touches it. This is called "putting English" on it. * Make the movement of the sprites smoother. Right now it is jerky for higher speeds. * Make the computer player smarter. Right now, it follows the ball but has no ability to guess where it will end up. An unbeatable computer player would be able to guess this perfectly (which would probably be cheating!). * Make it two-player instead. * Add more obstacles &/or features that change the game play (e.g., speed things up, super-size your paddle, add obstacles).
