- semi-hiatus + long rant (IMPORTANT) -

Game Introduction

(Continued) 5. Homophobes, transphobes, furry haters, racists, and people who joke around/talk about people behind their backs. In the Scratch Guidelines, it says “Scratch welcomes people of all ages, races, ethnicities, religions, abilities, sexual orientations, and gender identities.” which means that. If you’re mocking people about others being gay, trans, Asian, furries, etc., then you're just being terrible. You should NEVER make fun of someone for being one of those or something else. Think about what it’s like in their shoes. If someone laughed at you for being your race or sexuality, would you like it? If you have not realized already, this can make someone depressed, and if they’re already depressed, they might even try to commit su*c*de. If that makes you happy, I don’t know who you are, and I don’t want to know. 6. People being banned for no reason. Do not call me a hypocrite for saying this and talking about the first topic. These are completely different. Why? Some people are literally banned for no reason. But no reason, I don’t mean being banned for gore or forbidden websites. That’s a reason people get banned. Some people are just being accused of stuff or just being attacked. When the other person tries to say something against it, they take it the wrong way and report them a bunch of times and soon they’re banned. Why does this happen? Some people on Scratch are toxic and making peoples’ Scratch lives terrible. This can lead to people leaving scratch or being inactive for a while, or go on hiatus, which brings me to the end of this rant. I am going on hiatus on the 15th. I’ll leave for as long as I feel like and I may not come back, but leaving my friends would be hard, so I’ll probably stay. Who knows? Read it: https://scratch.mit.edu/community_guidelines Please don’t argue with me in the comments. This is my opinion and it will stay my opinion. If you really want to yell, scream it to yourself. I’m only staying and posting because of attacks, MAP parts, and other stuff. Other than that, I’m not doing anything.

How To Play

EDIT: to everyone who commented/comments: <3 Please read until the end. - - - The reason I’m going on semi-hiatus is that there’s a lot of drama, art thieves, impersonators, and people are being banned for no reason, which I’m going to rant about. No, I don’t want anyone to argue with me or report this project (honestly, I’m just saying some things that I have noticed and observed, so please, don’t do that.) but I’m honestly so sick of these few things. Please, bear with me while I explain. 1. People are getting blocked/banned and people are complaining or being “depressed” because of this. Obviously, someone was banned for doing something that they shouldn’t have done. I don’t get why people are saying that this is unfair and trying to contact the Scratch Team to unban/unblock them. This could be about sending links out to a website forbidden on Scratch. The Scratch Team probably doesn't want people to get hurt or feel uncomfortable on those websites, so they ban them. It might be because someone’s showing, drawing, or even writing about blood and gore. It can even be for because someone has too many accounts or something. If you’re saying this is unfair, think about it. If people are breaking rules that you wrote, you would be annoyed, wouldn’t you? You can call me whatever you want for saying this and hate on me, but honestly, I couldn’t care less because this is one of the reasons Scratch is way more toxic than it used to be. 2. Drama. Literally all I have to say is one word; drama, but I suppose I have to explain, since others wouldn’t understand if they get into it and absolutely love it,though I wouldn’t understand why. People are getting into drama for some of the weirdest things. For example, someone accuses someone else who was obviously not stealing art and they get into a fight. Or it can be because someone stole art and says that they aren’t, which brings me into my next topic. 3. Art Theft. This is something really big to our artists on scratch. Sometimes, people copy someone’s style, whether it’s shading, coloring, or just the lineart. I agree, this is annoying. I think we can all agree that when you tell them, they tell you that they did NOT do it, and was “trying out a new style” or “being inspired”. Yes, you can do that, but not with another person’s style. You can do that if you get their permission, and I don’t think artists will let you, unless you're doing a style challenge. Art theft isn’t just stealing art, it includes copying someone’s style, tracing, recoloring, and even referencing. This is rather annoying, and if one of your friends steals something from you, you have a hard time telling them to stop, which is why sometimes you may not want to make friends as much. I’ve been in this situation for at least three years now. People you know in real life may be the hardest to tell not to steal from, since they’re usually your friends or family members. How do I know? This is where at least one of the three years pops in. I had a friend who really liked to draw and I remembered teaching her how to draw once. Bad choice. Now everywhere on Scratch, I can find art thieves and people who heavily reference. Also, this is only ONE of the reasons I put “do not: - steal - trace - reference - copy - recolor - etc. my art, you will be reported if you do.” at the end of my project. Along with this, people should stop guilt tripping and saying that they didn’t copy or reference or whatever and just admit it and give credit. 4. Impersonation. Have you seen how toxic this community is because of impersonation? If not, when you read to the end of this rant, you should know. In the Community Guidelines on Scratch, it states “Be honest. Don’t try to impersonate other Scratchers, spread rumors, or otherwise try to trick the community.” which is exactly what I’m talking about. If you don’t have a scratch account and you’re reading this, take a hint and follow the Community Guidelines. I think everyone should read this ( https://scratch.mit.edu/community_guidelines ) before they join scratch. Anyway, impersonating people is not cool. If you didn’t already know, the person you’re impersonating can literally pop in and just say “you aren’t me”, and you would immediately get a bunch of people who dislike what you’re doing. Don’t call them haters, though, they’re being amazing by telling an impersonator to stop. I’m very proud of them for standing up to them. If you have done this, thank you.
