How To Play

edit: i made a part for this map!! https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/468386277/ - - ♔ parle à ta tête - - ♔ space / tap to advance - - ♔ hello everyone! as a lot of you know, i love entering for thumbnail contests :O i find it so fun to take all the emotion and mood of the map and spread it into one drawing :D if you ask me to do a tne for your map,, i will most likely do it ^^ and this map is no different! i was invited to join by the very talented @cindywinqs, and i loved the song and concept so i applied for backup :D to contribute more to this awesome map, i decided to do a thumbnail entry! the refs were very fun and easy-to-follow and i have a lot of fun with this one! a lot of people have been asking me for a drawing in my style project, but if any of you know me, you'll know i'll never post a project saying how to draw in my style, so instead im doing a drawing process of this ^^ this is probably the closest you'll ever get to a how-to-draw-in-my-style lmbo. anyways, let's get onto the process! - - ♔ 1 - rough sketch! i always start every drawing of mine with a basic sketch of the shapes and poses, it normally consists of circles and squares, basic body shapes 2 - detailed sketch / guidlines! this is the hardest part BY FAR. here i try and sketch out the anatomy, poses, facial expressions, etc. here is an example of different body shapes, with dovewing's ears being round and short, and ivypool's being sleek and long :> 3 - lineart! i go over the sketch with a black pen. this is to clean up the sketch and make the lines thicker 4 - colored lineart! it gives the final product a very soft, appealing texture ^^ 5 - colors / patterns! a lot of people will do flat colors first and then do protect alpha or something for the patterns, but not me! i duplicate the lineart layer, color it in (starting with the darkest and lightest and/or the colors that are on the "top" of the fur, and then ending with the base color), and then merge the lineart and color layer ^^ 6 - shading! i've found cell shading to be more dramatic, so that's what i used for this drawing :) i shaded them both with their accent colors, for ivypool a dark blue, and for dovewing a dark green. then i lower the opacity to maybe 50-60%, then set to multiply and merge onto the color. the more dense the shading is, the more dynamic it ends up looking 7 - highlights! i used their accent colors again, ivypool a bright light blue, and dovewing a bright yellow-green, then i lower the opacity (again: the more dense, the more dynamic) and set the blending mode to add, then merge 8 - highlight-lineart! i duplicate the lineart layer again and use protect alpha to color in the lineart where the highlights are to a light color (in this case, white) 9 - accent outlines! i duplicate the layer with the color / shading / lineart / etc, set "expand __ pixel" to 3, set the tolerance level to 254, and then "paint" it 3 times to get a nice even outline (also, i changed dovewing's lineart color a bit; can you tell?) 10 - background! set the snap to "criscross" and use the pen to create a nice straight line down the middle of the canvas :D then paint one side black, the other white (final version w/o text) 11 - text! i used the font provided by firealpaca "heiti tc" and had a lot of fun experimenting with different text placement ^^ (final version w/text) and now i'm done :D - - ♔ art - @warriorcats4life9 characters - ivypool & dovewing (warriors) [ designs by @cindywinqs ] map host - @cindywinqs song - parle à ta tête (indila) - - ♔
