the counters will be updated automatically via cloud variables updated by a nodejs server. the in-project counter will probably be more accurate than the scratch counters as long as the server is up. this is because scratch caches the counts client-side and a little on the server, to make things fast, but my server bypasses that. to check if the server is up, see if the cloud has been updated recently at https://scratch.mit.edu/cloudmonitor/490413374/ new scratchers will not be able to see counts in the project but they can still participate. @-rex- for the pte, it works great
