Know I haven't been very active recently, so here's a quick art project with three inspiring women. ◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇ Press space or arrows for next piece . ◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇ 1ꜱᴛ - ᴀᴅᴀ ʟᴏᴠᴇʟᴀᴄᴇ She is a British mathematician who helped to create the world's first calculator! She helped break the misbelief that girls couldn't be engineers, and paved the way for future female programmers. 2ᴄɴᴅ - ꜰʀɪᴅᴀ ᴋʜᴀʟᴏ An incredible artist, her paintings are some of the most famous and admired to this day. However she didn't have an easy childhood - she contracted a disease called polio from a young age, and had to spend much of her life lying in her bed. Instead of just being angry about it, instead she turned to painting, and discovered her passion. 3ʀᴅ - ᴍᴀʀʏ ꜱᴇᴀᴄᴏʟᴇ Mary Seacole is actually someone not enough people know about. When she heard about the number of sick and wounded soldiers in the Crimean War, she immediately travelled towards the hospitals. Her mother had taught her traditional African healing, and Mary was a skilled medic. But they were suspicious of a black women practicing medicine, and turned her away. Not deterred, she created her own hospital - The British Hotel - right between each of the soldier's territories. She treated both armies, no matter their colour, age or nationality, and saved countless lives. ◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇◆◇ These are only three of the numerous women I could have chosen. Happy International Women's day!
