Happy Juneteenth <33 [6/19] Thank you for the feature ST!! Let's make this the most awesome Juneteenth on Scratch! >:D --- [6/20] Juneteenth is over for a lot of people.. but a poll from the NY Times shows that 60% of Americans know little to nothing about Juneteenth! Juneteenth recognizes the real end of slavery in America, a pretty big event, and 60% of Americans barely know anything about it! /Please/ educate your families, and friends, and people in your life about Juneteenth! This is something that needs to be known! <3 --- This projects has facts, and ways to celebrate Juneteenth 2021! --- I made this project, mostly for few irl friends, who didn't know what Juneteenth was >:0 /nm I thought it'd be a good one to share with Scratch too, so here we are! Now that Juneteenth is a federal holiday, y'all should definitely know a bit about it! :D -- Instructions: ★ Clicking on different parts of the image will pull up facts and ways to celebrate Juneteenth! ★ Books hold lots of knowledge, so it might be a good idea to check one out a few times :D ★ Check out things that are glowing yellow! :3 ★ Go research some more about Juneteenth! There's a lot more I couldn't fit into this project :) ★ [EDIT: 6/18] This is somewhat mobile friendly now!! :D Just tap the pinkish triangle, then tap the text boxes to see some of the facts in the project! I'm still working on making it more accessible for everyone! --- Vocabulary ★ Juneteenth: June 19th. A day celebrating the freedom of all African Americans from slavery, in America, that originated in Texas. ★ Emancipation Proclamation: An order made by Abraham Lincoln that made all slaves in America free.
