Take this with a grain of salt, it's just my point of view and opinion. Don't take this too seriously, wrote this a while ago, some points I have somewhat changed on, some points may also be inaccurate. Please point out such points kindly if you object, don't have an aggressive debate Recently, I've noticed the amount of people copy-pasting the same link over and over, on different and even the same projects. It honestly disgusts me to see that this is what the younger generation of today (which I guess includes me) is becoming (haha I sound like I'm old and wise) Scratch was never made to be like social media, it was a place to learn the coding basics and share your projects. What I also find ridiculous is that people care so much about followers on Scratch. I understand if it was a big social media platform, such as Instagram, where there are career opportunities, but followers on Scratch, more so than anywhere else, do nothing. But still, people continue to spam project links, ask for "feedback" on 100 "famous" people's profiles, and F4F. I once was of the F4F breed, I'm sure quite a lot of people were, but that was when I was not even 10, and was yet to realise that's not what Scratch is about. So that's basically all I wanted to say. And for any advertisers possibly reading this, please stop. It ruins the fun of Scratch to have fame-hungry kids spamming links on everyone's profiles. And then when I tell them to stop advertising they go and tell me how sad it is that only 1 person views their project. Lmao only 1 person has viewed my project, and do I really care? Prioritisation is key, Scratch, in the long run, won't matter. KEY POINT TO NOTE: If permitted/asked for, advertising is fine, which I am ok with. When not allowed, or not asked for, I do not want it, it's unnecessary and fame-hungry. I hope you enjoyed my Ted-Talk ;) Do you agree or disagree? I'd like to hear your thoughts.
