Top-Down Scratch

Game Introduction

How To Play

INSTRUCTIONS Use the mouse or the arrow keys or A/D to turn. The ultimate objective is to get views. In each round, collect eight code blocks to make a project within 60 seconds, while collecting followers. Followers view your projects. In round two, notifications will appear. Hearts and faves lead to views. Watch out for rude comments, which appear in round 3, they will make your followers unfollow you. Also, avoid bumping in to your followers, they don't like that ;) The number of Views shown between rounds and in the Game Over Screen, is based on the number of Followers you've accumulated, the number of Stars and Hearts you collect, and the time remaining when you've collected all the blocks each round. Extra time is allotted in round 1 (20 sec extra) and round 2 (10 sec extra). NOTES & CREDITS Thank you for all the very nice comments, and I'm sorry for not being able to answer them all! If you comment, note that any comment breaking the Community Guidelines in any way will be reported. For instance, the guidelines states "Please keep comments respectful and avoid spamming or posting chain mail". Advertisement is considered spam. The spirit of this game does not represent how I feel about Scratch, it's a caricature. To me, Scratch is not about throwing together projects to get as many views and followers as possible, but rather about creating and learning, to the best of your ability. But mostly, it's about having fun, so... ;) All code by me (@kriblo). All art by me (@kriblo) inspired by elements in Scratch, except the cloud background (see my Cloud Gazer project), the image of Pico, the screenshots of the Follow/Unfollow buttons, the Potty Mouth Font by Nate Piekos, and the ceebee character, which represent Scratch and which was modified from @ceebee's project "What's that button do?". Sound and fonts from the library, except the goat scream from MineCraft, and the "No no no no" from freesound.org (by way of @RokCoder's Snake project). Music is Follow, by EmpireB: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/youtube/8yP-TB7mRnM/ I made the top-down Scratch Cat animation for this project. The forward and side facing Scratch Cat in the thumbnail is from my project Scratch Cat Walkabout: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/571272758/ Also try my project Scratch Puzzles: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/640122700/ #description(Collect blocks, make projects, gather followers, and amass as many views as possible. It's Scratch, but Top-Down!)
