Interesting Pen Effects
Game Introduction
Experiment with different combinations of x and y multipliers and see what patterns you can create. To enter in a new value, click on the circle for the specific value. For advanced options, press 'o' on your keyboard. Also, press 'c' to clear the screen. If you find an interesting combination, please post it so I can add it below. Interesting Combos: X: 30, Y: 12 - A pattern X: 20, Y: 30 - A complex knot X: 39, Y: 40 - A sweet wrapper? (@ScratchinJoJo) X: 49, Y: 7 - A spring X: 30, Y: 20 - A loop X: 24, Y: 12 - A figure 8 X: 48, Y: 42 - Hot dogs? (@jams41) X: 50, Y: 40 - A complex pretzel? (@BlazinIce) X: 30, Y: 10 - A chocolate (@Jimbobby123456789) X: 10, Y: 40 - A 'W' X: 100, Y: 1 - Stripes (@E14514) X: 25, Y: 50 - An arch (@BookOwl) X: 20, Y: 20 - A circle X: 30, Y: 40 - A pretzel (@BlazinIce) X: 35, Y: 40 - A Celtic knot (@ScratchinJoJo) X: 24, Y: 13 - If you wait long enough, a square with rounded edges. X: 0, Y: 0 - Dot ( @Carbonate- ) Note: You will find that when using a different pair of multipliers with the same ratio, you will get the same result. eg. X: 2, Y: 1 gives the same result as X: 24, Y: 12. However, bigger multipliers give a faster cycle time (the time for one cycle along the path). Also, the best patterns have simple ratios. eg. a figure 8 is 2:1 All effects are drawn using some simple trigonometry, which is based off that which you use to draw a circle outline. Therefore, there probably is an infinite number of patterns you can create with this system. Formula: X = ((sin((timer)*(x multiplier))*75) Y = ((cos((timer)*(y multiplier))*75) Warning from @MouseClickHD: When fast mode and turbo mode are combined, there is a potential risk of an epileptic seizure.
