How To Play

Play the game of UNO with people from around the world! NOTE: You will need *3* players on the loading screen before a game can begin! :) UNO is a turn-based card game, involving multiple cards with different numbers and colours. Some cards have special abilities, and some don't. The aim of the game is to use all of your cards until you have none left. Once you reach 0 cards, you will win the game. The game starts out with a random card in the center of the screen. Player 1 will have to place a card that either has the same colour or the same number on top of that. Once they have placed their card, it will move onto the next players turn, where they will have to do the same thing. If it is your turn, and you have no cards that you can place, or don't want to place a card, you can press the 'Pickup Card' button, which will give you a random card and skip your turn. If a player is getting close to winning, you can use the +2 card to give the next player 2 more cards, and skip their turn. HOWEVER, if they also have a +2 card, they can add onto the number of cards and the next person will receive those cards. This chain will continue until a player has no +2 cards to add on with, and they will receive the cards. Black cards are a special, rare type of card that can be placed on any other colour. Using a black card, or wildcard, allows you to change the colour that the next player will have to put down. There are two types of wildcard, one with a '?' and one with a '+4'. The +4 will give the next player 4 cards, skip their turn, and allow the changing of the card colour. These, however can not be stacked like +2 cards can. The '?' wildcard doesn't give the next player 4 cards or skip their turn, but it does still allow changing the colour. To join a game, simply press the green flag. The game will automatically find an open game slot for you to join, and once there are enough people (3), the game will begin. The background will go orange when it is your turn, and blue when it is not. Music can be disabled via the spacebar. To view the game log, you can press 'L'.
