Edit 08 Dec 2024: Thanks so much to the Scratch Team for featuring my project on the front page - I genuinely did not expect this! I'm glad my app prototype was a helpful tool to the thousands of individuals who came across it. The app this game was built into received the Industry Innovator Award for Pet Care in my state, and was a finalist for Invention Convention 2022's U.S. Nationals! Thanks for all your support! = = = = = = = - Click the green flag to start. This is an app/website that prevents improper treatment of animals & plants. It has a recommendation system and care instructions approved by expert veterinarians, ensuring organisms will live in peace and harmony. It will also include activities, programs, games and other applications that assist in educating people about the environment & companion animals. This is the prototype of the invention. Drag and drop the fish, frogs, plants and equipment into the tank and it will change different colors, indicating if the combination benefits towards the creatures' well-being, or causes some drawbacks. Click the "More about this combination" button to get information about the combination you've dropped into the aquarium. Click the (?) button for a legend/key and additional information. - Not fully functioning - Can indicate if the tank is overstocked or if there may be aggression between organisms. Includes additional stuff like mandatory prerequisites, and tips + facts about the combination of organisms you've chosen. - Encourages proper treatment of animals, such as use of filter and heater - There is a small issue where if the tank has possible conflict (yellow) and also overstocked (red), it will overwrite as yellow. Also, it cannot display more than two kinds of conflict at once. Final invention would include: - Recommendation system algorithm - Step-by-step interactive care instructions - More pet/enclosure options. The app will be able to link with stores and all products will be added to the system. An additional function of the app is to provide educational resources about animals and pets to promote environmental awareness. Pigeon Path is a prototype/example - an educational game that teaches about the environment and also includes an appealing storyline as well.
