Lots of people don't know when WWII was. It was in the 1940's. The German army was destroying London, being SUPER mean to Jews, and attempting to take over the world. Of course, the London kids all had to be taken to the countryside, or even as far as America and Canada! Some of the children were cheated, but most of them did return to their war-torn city.
