b u t t e r w a f f l e ✿ [tap/arrow keys/space] Quick post! I hope u guys like it! This is my redraw of Katara from Avatar the Last Airbender! I’m probably gonna keep this up as an annual thing I had a lot of fun! I always get frustrated when I make drawings and I feel like I’m never improving. Doing this made me feel really good lol :’D I’m looking forward to next year already~ Also my art style kind of changed a little Some notes on each of the drawings: 2020 - this was the month I first got my iPad, and I was super excited! This took like 2-4 hours- I don’t have the exact tracked time because I deleted the file :’) Overall the drawing isn’t great- the proportions are off, there isn’t much sense of form, the colors are super saturated, and I abused overlay layers a ton ;-; 2021 - I still think this one is pretty!! Tracked time is around 1.5 - 2 hours! The art is kind of blurry though, but the colors are soft and pretty. All the shading was done using multiply layers :) 2022 - I’m very proud of this!! One of my main focuses recently has been time efficiency- and this took just under an hour :) The details are much more messy I think? But it all works- there’s details where there needs to be. I think she looks more expressive/dynamic. I also opted to select colors for shading all by hand- except for a color dodge layer over the eyes, and I’m really proud of that !! Ahhh u guys I would highly recommend trying this- like an annual redraw thing. This made me feel like I’m actually improving hahahah Anywaysss I hope u guys enjoyed this!
