Shadow's Tank Fury 1979
Game Introduction
This project is part of the Tank Fury series. Shadow is once again attacking Hey_dude1's base! A semi-auto cannon has been equipped on the top of the building ready to destaroy anything that comes near. You control the tank with your mouse and blow up as much of Shadow's tank army as you can before one breaks the wall of the base so Shadow can get in! Shadow slowly upgrades his tanks to be faster, and he also learns tricks to confuse or distract you, such as moving to multiple places before placing a tank, or making fake tanks to distract you from real ones. Music is Chronos by Tim Follin. All graphics, sound effects and ideas by me. Sound effects made with https://sfxr.me/ The Tank Fury series: https://scratch.mit.edu/studios/35658421
How To Play
Welcome to 1979. You just bought a new computer and this game came with it. This is my own game and I tried my best to emulate a game from the late 70s to early 80s, including monochrome CRT emulation, floppy disk emulation and 1-bit beeper emulation. Startup takes a while. Floppy disks aren't exactly the fastest storage device. Fullscreen makes the CRT emulation look best. Choose your monitor color, amber or green (type "a" or "g") Once at the title screen, press space to play, or any other key for demo mode. When you die and it shows you your scores, wait until the music stops and press space to go back to the title screen. If you have destroyed over 20 tanks, you unlock powerups. There is a 1 in 15 chance of getting a powerup when you destroy a tank. Powerups last 10 seconds. You will get multishot or rapidfire. On rapidfire mode, it becomes full-auto and you can press and hold mouse button to consistently shoot. Multishot makes you shoot 5 bullets at once over a wider range, making it much harder to miss. After a powerup runs out, there is a 10 second cooldown before you can get another powerup.
